DESCRIPTION:
French, Chaveau, Paris, 4-Column Empire mantel clock, bright ormolu case, the well made pinwheel movement with 60 pins in 'scape wheel and affording half seconds on the dial, also with central calendar & knife edge suspension, C.1830.
CONDITION:
this clock has been in storage and will need cleaning. One verge pallet has been repaired, but it seems to 'scape fine. The knife edge support is loose where it attaches to the bridge. Case gilding has some wear on high spots but is overall quite bright. Porcelain enamel dial is really perfect. Ht 21"
